Frequently asked questions

Is this an equity calculator or an odds calculator?

Both. It reports win, tie, and equity percentages for Texas Hold’em hands — the numbers people look for when searching for a poker equity or odds calculator.

Does it use Monte Carlo or exact enumeration?

Exact hand vs exact hand enumerates every remaining board (including preflop HU). Equity vs a villain range uses Monte Carlo — sampling combos from the range and runouts — and shows an approximate ± margin. That is intentional: full range enumeration explodes combinatorially.

How do I enter a villain range?

Choose Custom range, then tap hands on the grid or toggle multi-select presets (Top 10%, JJ+, suited broadways, RFI by position, etc.). Combos that collide with hero or the board are removed automatically. Exact cards and your selected range are preserved when you switch modes.

Are spot-linked ranges GTO / solver output?

No. When you open Equity from a Daily Poker Spot, Estimated range uses a static tournament starting range from the public preflop action and seats (RFI, BB flat vs open, 3-bet, etc.). If the villain called, premiums that usually 3-bet are left out. It is not Pokerai/solver output and is not narrowed by flop/turn/river play.

Can I use it on my phone at the table?

Yes. The card picker is designed for mobile tap input. For live play, always follow local rules about devices at the table.
