Frequently asked questions
What is the rule of 2 and 4?
With one card to come, multiply outs by 2 for a rough percentage. With two cards to come (on the flop), multiply by 4. Exact maths is shown alongside for precision.
Why might outs be “dirty”?
A card can complete your draw while also completing a stronger hand for an opponent — for example a flush card that pairs the board or completes a higher flush. Treat auto estimates as a starting point.
When should I use manual outs?
Use manual mode whenever automatic detection is unsure, you want to discount dirty outs, or you already know how many clean outs you are counting.
How do exact heads-up outs work?
Optionally enter your opponent’s two hole cards. The calculator then counts exact win outs (and tie outs) against that specific hand by running every remaining turn and river card — not heuristic draw estimates.
